Grey today but with a hint of sunshine every now and then. I still feel weary from my booster so the morning dog walk was a bit of a struggle but worth it. The field was busy. I miss getting out properly into nature but today wasn’t the day for it.
After a post lunch rest I summoned the energy to make a chocolate Victoria Sponge. After a slice of it and a cup of tea I felt much more energetic! So a few festive decorations were put up outside in the porch and on the little apple tree on the patio.
Then Merlin and I walked to the allotment. We sat for a while taking in the fresh air and bird song, and I consulted with him about next year’s allotment plans. He seemed positive, listening inquisitively as I spoke to him!
Afterwards we went to the field and enjoyed being outside as the light faded and the birds settled down for the night. The oak trees now bare of leaves looked particularly impressive against the sky. There is something special about experiencing the gradual start and finish of the day as it occurs in nature.
