Reflection

Today was a little different.

Junior's ice hockey B team had a lunchtime game here, so I went along to watch during my break. The B team is the development squad, and A team players are allowed 3-4 games in it before they become disqualified. It is non-contact, so ideal during the current crisis. Well, as ideal as anything is at the moment.

The team took a vote on whether to cancel the game, with those voting for cancellation being able to drop out if it went ahead. The end result meant the team was a bit short handed. Most of them are students, and many going home for the festivities. They did revert to the safety protocols they used at the start of the season - no kissing or hugging after goals etc.

It turned into a fun game to watch, and Junior scored the winning goal with a few seconds left on the clock.

He learned to skate and play at Fife Ice Arena when he was 7 years old, so it is always a bit nostalgic for me going back there. I spent so many hours there freezing my ar*e off.

He is the one with the red helmet in the Blip, waiting for his next shift.

The Extra is the Office, which my festive-loving colleagues have tarted up a bit.
