Pipe Band
Nothing to rush for this morning – which is just as well as we all slept late. I know that I really needed it. Everything was white and frosty this morning. It was cold, but very bright. I popped out to get a few things and had a look around the farmers’ market. I didn’t buy much, but had to go and get cash as I didn’t have any and they couldn’t take my card as their machine had broken.
After lunch we headed off up the road to visit my mum and dad. As we drove along the A1 we could see a big bank of fog snaking up the Forth. And so, having left blue skies and sunshine at home, we had a really foggy journey interspersed with bits of sunshine, but they were in very thick fog. We spent a few hours catching up with granny and grandad and would normally have gone out for a walk, but no one was keen on a walk in the fog. Come early evening we left them and popped over the hill to visit friends. It was a white knuckle, edge of the seat drive, as it was so foggy. The police had also closed the road, so we had to take a detour along very dark and foggy country roads. It was a relief to get back to civilisation.
We had a lovely evening catching up over great food, and were entertained by Hugo their new puppy. He was super excited at meeting so many new people. TT came away with another bottle of birthday whisky! I very much like the bottle. All too soon it was time for us to head back down the road. The fog wasn’t quite so bad, and thankfully the road was very quiet. We got home very late, so TT says we can all have a long lie again tomorrow.
The pipe band was entertaining the Christmas shoppers this morning.
