In Times of Covid
There is not much going on in this lady’s life today. It is another gloomy, dank, dispiriting day with the dampness soaking into one’s soul.
The one class act in the whole day was keeping the Ivy reservation when my nurse practitioner friend couldn’t meet me as her annual leave had been cancelled because of Covid.
Rather than cancel the booking I called up another friend who was happy to oblige by sharing toast and lattes with me. Small things give such pleasure in these uncertain times.
There are still hordes of tourists visiting the city judging by the number of people gobbling up huge breakfasts in the Ivy and sauntering in crowds around the Christmas Market as if the virus is absent in Edinburgh. Money talks, the virus is silent.
