A Kiwi Christmas
The traditional Christmas from the Northern Hemisphere has been adapted to suit our summer conditions. Here is the old man in shorts, sunnies, jandles and a towel in case he takes the reindeer for a swim at the river. This afternoon we stole acquired a Christmas tree from a forestry block beside the road. It is a seedling that has grown up beside the road and not a production tree. Honestly. The forester came back with it and said four other people had been there before him.
While I was at the pool the forester and Sandra went out to the berry farm for raspberries and the orchard for peaches and apricots. He also got apricots with small blemishes to make jam. I decorated the tree and he is making the jam as I speak.
