Blacksmiths Arms

Another day, another lunch! We met up with Rob’s ex-colleague Steve for a catch-up and Christmas visit. His first bombshell was that he’s just handed in his notice! So, much cause for celebration!
The little pub is delightful, near Broughton-in-Furness in the middle of nowhere with low beams and log fires. It’s run by a chef and he’s very talented, the food is perfectly cooked and very homely. We had Lamb Henry with mixed roast vegetables and mint gravy, very delicious and too much to manage a pudding!
We had a quick look at Steve’s new kitchen extension and it’s made such a difference to his tiny cottage in Ulverston.
Home to find Andrew and Katie, and Tigger, safely departed, and the Aga serviced and warming up.
