Freedom from demand has brought the anticipated crash. And of course freedom from demand is an illusion as there are all sorts of non-work demands queuing up for my attention. But having nothing to do in one life domain doesn’t mean that I can suddenly switch to productivity in others. A demand holiday is in order but that’s difficult to achieve when your environment is full of prompts and reminders. I guess that’s why most people go away for their holidays.
