Lemon Meringue

I made a pie!

When I looked at the recipe for the pie crust it called for Crisco shortening which I did not have. So...since I had to go to the store I decided to just buy ready made pie crusts. They were on sale so now I have crusts for future use.

I zested and juiced the lemons. It was so pretty I decided it really needed a photo so I set it up in the light box.

Food photography might be my new thing!

The smell of that lemon pudding cooking was so amazing.

Meringue is tricky and of course I did not have the cream of tartar to stiffen it up correctly. It shrunk up but still tastes okay.

Next time I might just make the pudding and eat it in a bowl!
