His n Hers...

Given that we are having our own little lockdown in the run up to Christmas in the hope of having our family get together on Boxing Day, blip opportunities are few and far between.  Today I bring you our His n Hers Christmas decorations.  Actually going by the shot, it's Hers n His :-))

My lovely Kate Bush bauble on the left celebrating her 2011 album Fifty Words for Snow (is it really 10 years since it was released?!) and on the right David's star celebrating the release of Hue and Cry's 2009 album Xmasday (is it really 12 years since it was released?!!)   

These are carefully wrapped up every year and loving brought out again the following one :-))

Found out today that after their son catching covid, our friends Alan and Gail have now also succumbed.  They just got their boosters on Saturday!  At the moment Gail says it feels like a horrible flu.  Hoping it doesn't get any worse.  They think Stewart caught it on the train coming up from London on Friday as his girlfriend Hannah (who he lives with) flew up to Glasgow on the same day, and she's fine.

Listened to our First Minister's speech in the Scottish Parliament today.  Whatever one thinks of her, there is no doubt she is deeply involved in the nuts and bolts of this whole situation, unlike BoJo who hasn't got a clue!  

She hasn't cancelled Christmas but is advising family get-togethers with caution and LRT testing as close to meeting up as possible.   She has asked for restraint after that though, with Hogmanay and New Year's Day celebrations to be put on hold if possible.  

We have come to the decision that we will go ahead with our family get together on Boxing Day (LFTs allowing) and cancel our Hogmanay with Ele and Kenny and Agnes and Adrian (Adrian works for the NHS in Glasgow and comes into contact with many patients and A&E depts so is a likely candidate for carrying the virus) and our NYD family dinner.  

Still undecided what to do about John and Norma who are due to come up on 30th.   Might wait till nearer the time to make a final decision on that.

Still to break the news about Hogmanay and NYD.  Think I will leave that till tomorrow.
