Another New One for Me
With the cooler temps, I'm seeing fewer butterflies. Fletch and I spotted this Ocola Skipper Panoquina ocola, aka long-winged skipper. Found throughout tropical America and the West Indies and common in the southern and gulf-coastal states. It's been expanding it's range in the U.S. as far north as Massachusetts, New York and Indiana. I'm certain that I've seen and probably photographed this Skipper before but this is the first time I've been able to identify it. Always a good day when you are able to add to your 'life lists'!
