Christmas box

Our neighbours have put out a Christmas box for the garbage collectors. Back in the day that was something we all did at Christmas. But how does it work now? There will be at least two different trucks (for the different coloured bins) and the collectors won’t get out of the truck or, I fear, see the gift. Those automatic arms will swing out and upend the bin into the truck, and with it, I fear, the Christmas box. That’s sad.
