I had a productive morning of washing the car and doing a load of ironing. Then this afternoon I caught up with some Christmas specials and had lovely long catch ups with one of my sisters and my great friend T. Wishing you a merry and peaceful Christmas.

There were 122,186 new cases reported today, another new record and the number over the last 7 days is up 48.2% on the week before. The updated ONS weekly infection survey of private households to 19th Dec shows 1.7m had Covid in the UK (highest recorded); with 1 in 35 with the virus in England (up - with 1 in 20 with the virus in London); 1 in 65 in Scotland (up); 1 in 45 in Wales (up); and 1 in 40 in NI (up). Dr Jenny Harries said there are ‘very very high growth rates’ in the UK and mainly with younger people - the 20-29 year group particularly.
