Preparations

An unplanned trip to Jack's this morning, for a rendezvous with an emergency locksmith. The deadlock button in the Yale lock had slipped down, stopping the key from turning... Jack et al are away for a few days... and we needed to get in to feed the cat.
So thank you to the extremely helpful and efficient Polish locksmith who arrived promptly, drilled out the lock and neatly replaced it. Jack and Marianna had known it was getting past its best but hadn't had time to get it replaced.
Later Richard made the stuffing mix for tomorrow and I defrosted fruity stored up from the summer for tomorrow's dessert. Not Christmas pudding this year, but a dairy-free chocolate and chestnut roulade, with the fruit on the side.
Tomorrow Ruth, Josh and the kids will be with us for Christmas dinner, presents and general mayhem :-)
