Today's the day .......................... to look ahead

This is probably my most favourite tree within easy walking distance of home and today, it looked its usual magnificent self.

It's been around for quite a while, I imagine and it will have seen all sorts of changes in the landscape around it.  It's comforting to know that it is still there and still supporting a whole range of wildlife.  It will have seen a fair number of Christmas Eves come and go.

And before long, we can think of those new leaves starting into life and a new season will be upon us ....................
