Christmas with the family
Well, we had our very own Christmas miracle today!!
Tom was released from hospital in Brisbane and Sandy and Tom drove straight to us … shock horror. 6 days after open heart surgery, he wanted to and felt well enough to be here with all the family. Sandy and Martin were freaking out, but we made him as comfortable as possible. And it was wonderful that they could be here.
We’ve had a lovely time with everyone and the turkey (biggest one we’ve cooked yet) turned out great. We also had a ham, which seems to be what most people do here.
And not having to open presents amongst all the preparation was such a time saver. Now we can just enjoy them tomorrow.
I had to leave the gathering and play at church as our church had put on a 4:30pm Carol service and kids activities. It was a community event and there was a really good turn out. Our pastor gave a wonderful Christmas message and the children's Christmas story was very engaging as well.
So our first Christmas with our Aussie family and we look forward to many more.
Sending lots of love to you all and wishing you a very Merry Christmas from us.
