This way to the trains

I have NO idea how this is the only photograph that I have from this day!

A day started on the train, journeying from Washington DC to Orlando. I had been concerned about getting dinner and lunch on the train, given that we had been boarding at 7:30pm and disembarking at 12:50pm. I needn't have worried as the car attendant had it all sorted. We boarded to the news that we had a dinner reservation at 8pm, and were on the first lunch sitting at 11:45. So nice!

I noticed this sign at a station just before Orlando, possibly Winter Park, and just liked the detail of the station sign.

My surprise at this being the only photo is mainly due to arriving at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom lodge with its exquisite attention to detail and giraffes etc outside the window, and the only photo I took was of a railroad sign???

The bathroom is bigger than most hotel rooms, the detailing throughout is just incredible, the girls LOVE the pool (and we love the poolside bar), and we have a "savannah view" with giraffe, zebra, crowned cranes, various long-horned cattle, impala and, wonder of wonders, okapi, wandering past. I have always wanted to see an okapi, they just seem to look as though they shouldn't quite exist, or to have been stitched together from bits of other animals. I can safely say that they DO exist, and I even have photos, just not today!
