The Screes.

At about 2000 feet, the screes above Wastwater might not be among the highest peaks in The Lakes but they make for a dramatic walk nonetheless.

Climbed to the top before making our way along the edge over Whinn Rigg and Illgill Head. There was plenty of snow on the top and going any higher would have been treacherous. We descended and made our way back along the water's edge traversing a hateful boulder field that went on for ages.
