oh what a lovely war!

yesterday i found a photograph album beside my fil's chair.
during his National Service he and my uncle became friends and were posted to egypt during the suez crisis, defending an isolated length of the canal. it was here that they were visited by my father who was defending another part of the canal and so two families got to know each other and remained life long friends.
redecoration of sitting and sewing rooms is now complete and snow is beginning to fall - where is spring?!
