Christmas!
What a rollercoaster we’ve been on for the last 24 hours! After yesterday’s positive lateral flow test, we got our PCR results back just before lunchtime today and they were all negative, so Paul was able to come out of his upstairs isolation. What great news! We had just put up a gazebo in the garden so we could spend time together in the drizzle outside, but never mind - it was so nice to have Paul back with us properly.
Yesterday, we had decided to postpone Christmas dinner by a day until we knew the test results, but as they came through in time, we decided to go back to having the meal today, just pushing it all back a few hours. So we did a bit of frantic prep before lunch, then spent the afternoon opening the presents in amongst the cooking. It’s a lot of work but the dinner was lovely - thanks to Paul for doing most of the planning and cooking - and making the crackers! Afterwards, we played a very silly game of Snowmen Dice, then cleared up and slumped back down for the last of the presents and a bit of Christmas TV. I think everyone will sleep well tonight!
Merry Christmas to all!
