Boxing Day in Auckland

We left our cycle ride until late morning today.  On the way home just after midday I stopped at the eastern end of Kohimarama Beach and took a photo. It wasn’t terribly busy, but people were sunbathing and enjoying the water.  By the time we went past on the bus at 3:30pm, it was packed, the tide was in and it was lovely to see lots of people enjoying themselves.

We met a friend from out of town at 4pm for a drink and a chat.  We spent a peaceful couple of hours catching up with her news and also news of mutual friends. Lovely.

There are 126 new community cases across two days. They are in Auckland (88), Waikato (17), Bay of Plenty (6), Lakes (13), Taranaki (1) and Northland (1).
