What do you do if there is an unconscious tramp lying in a pool of his own piss on the doorstep of your Cathedral?

Step over him with as much concern as you would give to a crisp packet... 5 times.

I was so incredulous when I chanced to see it the first time that I sat for 20 minutes and witnessed the 5 times. To be fair to them I then went up and asked if he was ok, only to be met with a barrage of abuse, something they may have experinced before. But I, perhaps unrealistically, expected more.
