Boxing Day stroll around Knaresborough to visit the sacred sites of St Robert’s Cave, the Chapel of our Lady of the Crag, the haunting and terrible plaque marking the last known site of the synagogue before the Jewish people were “expelled from England” and also the painted windows, doors & walls of Knaresborough.

Knaresborough’s “Town Windows” feature a collection of public art works illustrating characters and events from the town’s history. The project was devised by Renaissance Knaresborough, an organisation set up to identify, develop and deliver projects that improve Knaresborough.

We finished off with taps in Six Poor Folk, now a bistro, originally a hospital, for 6 poor people of Knaresborough.
