Live and dangerous
To the South Bank in London tonight to a film screening to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Warp Films, a small British film company. The film, Dead Man's Shoes, was directed by Shane Meadows (better known for This Is England) and is a tale of violence, revenge and guilt. The soundtrack had been rescored and was performed by a live band. It's an excellent film but I'd forgotten how disturbing it is. The image of the avenging character in his gas mask is one that lingers in the imagination.
