Today's the day ........................ to finish the course

From the dawning of time, mankind has been completely fascinated by the sight of an unstoppable momentum that will carry on regardless, even if it will result in the annihilation of something that has previously been painstakingly set up.

The fact that it has taken ages to plan and construct the course, but the action will all be over in a few seconds, doesn't seem to enter the equation at all.  It's the taking part that counts - and when that ball pushes over the last hurdle, slides down the ramp and disappears into the waiting receptacle, universal joy knows no bounds .........................!
