Bird Island from the top.

First of the month meant everyone heading out to census Wanderin Albatross nests. I took the east side of the island again and an early start combined with good weather meant that by the time I reached Farewell Point at the far end I'd decided on a more adventurous route back.

I returned via the ridge at the top of the north cliffs that takes in the tallest peaks on Bird Island, culminating in La Roche at 356m. The view down the valleys, bays and base is pretty impressive.
