Memory & Reflection

Is the name of the Sculpture in today’s Blipfoto.

The sculpture is of a Mussel shell and can be found on the promenade just to the west of Musselburgh Harbour. 

The sculpture is 3.6 metres tall and 1.8 metres wide. It is certainly a magnificent addition to the shoreline.

We stayed overnight with Mr and Mrs Dog. Our bedroom was decorated with portraits of the Dog Family; ancestors and descendants of Mr and Mrs Dog.

All of the portraits are the work of Pat. The family of Dog have the largest collection of P Coelho’s portraits in private ownership along with several prints given to relatives of the Dog family.

Pat felt slightly odd sleeping in a room covered in her work.

However, the Musselburgh walk cleared our heads and we are back in full working order.

Musselburgh does not have the charm of the Fishing ports in Fife and also further south from Musselburgh.

The dogs walking their owners are just as friendly.

After a very fine lunch we drove back home and opened a bottle of sparkly.
