All's quiet on the River front

This is the Rivermouth where the River Hull joins the Humber, the strange building on the other side of the Hull is Hull's Aquarium, and in the distance the white shapes over the overnight ferries to the continent.
The slope on the left is the Horse wash that was used in summer when I was young to give Horses working around the town a cooling swim, and my, they used to love it and  even the older horses used to splash and roll about like yearlings.
There were just a few ruins on the site of the Deep left over from the earlier shipyard we kids used to hide our clothes in the summer and skinny dip from the point opposite to the Horse wash
We knew when it was safe to do because Reckitts  used to make a blue additive to add to wash powder and the waste from the process stained the river blue
When the blue stopped moving it was safe to swim across and back, but you soon learned not to swallow any as it tasted awful!
