Lady’s Tower, Ruby Bay, Elie
Lady’s Tower was built in 1760 as a summer house for Lady Jane Anstruther, who enjoyed a daily skinny dip. In the bottom left of the collage is her changing room. Her servant would ring a bell to warn the villagers to stay away.
We didn’t get out for our main walk until lunchtime, since a very long lie was required, but it was the best time of the day. The light was beautiful.
We went to Elie and walked along the Coastal Path and around by the Tower and Lighthouse. Everywhere I turned there were people out enjoying the day. Although the ground was damp there was no rain, little wind, and the sun was shining.
We stopped and chatted to several people. A couple on holiday from Italy were very interested in Geordie, and a man from San Francisco who has just bought a house in Elie, stopped for a good chat about the area.
When we got back Suzy sent me photos of her house all tidied up, all the girls new toys tidied into the playroom or their bedroom. She has managed to reclaim her sitting room. She inspired me to do some housework. Once done we had a wee wander around town, then home for something to eat.
Now we are settled in front of the telly, and it’s time for Chocolates and wine.
