Standing tall….

While we were away, Freddie delivered my flowers. It had been too late to cancel. I messaged Hannah to collect the box from outside our house. I knew what Freddie was sending me that week and Hannah has been thrilled with the red amaryllis lilies and regularly sent photos of their progress.

On Christmas Eve a dear friend brought some round for me. What a beautiful surprise! They have pride of place in front of the stained glass window on the turn of the staircase. They’re opening beautifully. My extra.

We’ve had more guests this afternoon. More easy conversation, more laughter. Our quiet Christmas has given time to be spontaneous.
