Custard Tarts

I had a go at making Portuguese custard tarts today, and was pleased with the results but they still don't taste as good as the proper ones I buy at St Nic's market in the Portuguese café there.. they won't give away their recipe of course. I'm glad I got the caramelised marks on the surface but the texture of the custard isn't quite right.. it's slightly too glutinous. I'll have to try again, which will please my sweet-toothed man.
