Ploughed Field

After yesterday's microscopic focus I felt it was time to open my eyes to wider vistas today. However, I toiled a bit to find any blip opportunities on my afternoon walk with the dogs, as the green shoots of spring are few and far between.

However, the farmers are beginning to prepare for the new season and there are a number of ploughed fields around. The field behind our house lies right on the edge of the dunes and is bordered on one side by the river, Biel Water. It suffers because when there are high tides part of the field get flooded. The soil is therefore quite clay like. The field had been ploughed yesterday not with deep furrows which would attract the water but tilled fairly gently. Nonetheless the tyres of the tractor had left strong tracks at the edges of the field and it was this that caught my attention and became the focus of my blip.

In order to gety a fairly gritty finish to my photo a la Bill Brandt, I may have gone a bit overboard in boosting the contrast and the clarity.
