BOILER INNARDS
Ive been having trouble with the hot water upstairs for a while - its been erratic - running hot, then cold for ages, then hot again... then cold. Not good when you are having a shower. Plumber was supposed to come out last week but his plans changed. He spent Christmas in Norfolk and just got back last night so he came here this morning. He was here ages pottering about in the bathroom and checking things inside the boiler. He thought the shower heads might be the problem so he popped off to Screwfix and bought new ones. Made no difference except the flow was better. He now thinks he might either need a little part ( cheaper option ) or a bigger part ( more expensive option ). The shop that sells these parts was closed today so he's going to go tomorrow and then come back here to hopefully sort out the problem. While he was out at Screwfix I took the chance to get some shots of inside the boiler. Its all a mystery to me but I guess its the most appropriate blip for today.
I did more sorting out, cleaning, washing curtains, ironing curtains. At times it seemed like two steps forwards and one back. Im wishing I had started all this sorting out a bit earlier as it hasn't been as quick and easy as I imagined.
So another day indoors which I didn't mind really as its rained the whole day. Only good thing is that its mild.
I did sit down for a while to watch an old film on TV. It was a1957 version of an Agatha Christie story " Witness For The Prosecution " starring Charles Laughton, Tyrone Power and Marlene Deitrich. I knew there was going to be a twist at the end but didn't quite get it right. There's a message at the end of the film asking the audience not to give away the ending once they leave the cinema.
