The Canal Bridge at Dockfield, Shipley

This little canal bridge looks rather sorely decayed as it straddles the Leeds-Liverpool canal at Dockfield, Shipley, but in better days it featured in the 1959 British film 'Room at the Top', based on the novel by John Braine. The film, set in 1940s Yorkshire starred Simone Signoret and Laurence Harvey among others. The black and white treatment is a departure for me, but I thought it suited the subject, with the still lingering snow adding to the bleak and miserable atmosphere.
