Golden light

The branches are still bare, but the birds will return and start singing in the early mornings again as the light returns.  

Isn't this simple scene so uplifting? This beautiful porcelain candle-holder was given to me by my best friend who lives further along the lake.  She always gives such thoughtful gifts and knows exactly what I love!

I took this photo at 8.30 am this morning and you can tell how dark and gloomy it is outside! It's pouring with rain and windy and the temperatures are too high for the season.
