Pinboard #13 (Wednesday 29th December 2021)

I used my time wisely this morning, going through my collection of badges and stuff and pinning them to a board.

Many had been on another pinboard that hung in the conservatory but most had faded from too much bright sun and heat before I changed the roof to one that blocked out the light, so only the most important ones of those have been retained on the new board. This is of course a work in progress. Next time I blip it will probably be outdoors and sharper.

I don't have anywhere indoors to set up a tripod so this is surprisingly sharp considering it was handheld at 1/15th. I attempted a couple with flash but preferred this one without. I hope most of it is legible.

The oldest are the two brooches of pushme-pullyou railway engines at the top, souvenirs from a Welsh holiday in the mid-fifties. One is Taliesin and the other Merddin Emrys.

P.S. (9.1.2022):-
Very little has changed to the pinboard of the badges I photographed last Wednesday week, but that was taken in poor available light in the porch while it rained and tried to snow outside, and suffered from slight camera motion, so I took the opportunity to photograph it again outdoors (see Extra), using the same hand-held procedure as the tea towel, for improved legibility.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Andy Mackay - Ride Of The Valkyries (recorded February 1974, Island Basing St Studios)
From the album In Search Of Eddie Riff this is by Andy Mackay, the oboe and sax player in Roxy Music, as represented top left of the board and most of whom play on the album. Mackay intended to showcase his various musical interests: classical music, Motown, fifties rock and roll instrumentals, film music, electronic effects and country and western. Ride Of The Valkyries is a sax-led blast of the Wagner composition featuring the whole band. There was a sly reference to the album title on an ambient B-side entitled Time Regained.
