Now That's What I Call Reading!
I'm currently enjoying the change in weather which i'm already taking full advantage of and getting out and about around Irvine for some good walks with the dog.
In the cold weather Irvine is quite brutal as it has nothing much to offer as far as indoor activities go but when the good weather comes out, if you care to go out and look, there are actually some pretty nice and cool places to be walking about.
So in the summer this will be one of my 'things to do' to keep me out of mischief.
Another will be getting stuck into these three, 80's themed books, while i try to direct my money into getting some good and cool stuff organised and booked for myself and with jodie for the coming summer months ahead.
I've never not got a book on the go and in recent years i've been happy to see my daughter get more into her reading, even if it seems that she has some unwritten clause that a vampire of some kind of origin has to pop up in the story somewhere.
Reading is always a good thing and should always be encouraged as it feeds the brain and as the saying goes of course 'knowledge is power'.
Oh, unless it's utter shit like '50 shades of grey' which i think will do your brain and eyes and mental state irreperable damage. I'm only taking a guess here, as i've never went anywhere near these books but i would think you would probably know less about things and the world around you after reading these books than the other way around.
Anyway, jodie has got both of us writing down and keeping note of all the books we read this year then we'll tally them up at the end of the year and see how we both get on. She already says i read too much so me telling her im going to fire through these three books before the end of the month hasn't exactly been met by cries of joy.
Oh well shes away whooping it up at the caravan so i've gotta rely on growing up in the pop 80s, the Blue Nile and the beautiful and tragic tale of Billy Mackenzie to keep me company.
