A Precious Resource by Alice Walker

This striking artwork is on the front of a calendar produced by the Floodplain Meadows Partnership (based at The Open University) for 2022. The images in the calendar were entered into a competition in which artists were asked to observe and respond to floodplain meadows. The art and poems resonate particularly with me, as I have spent holidays over the last couple of years walking on floodplains beside the River Thames.
