Clockhouse
is home to three residents. It sits in a sunny 4-sided courtyard with Linden House on the opposite and adjoining side. The fourth side of the courtyard consists of a high wall with a large arched entranceway at its centre. It is a suntrap and in summer the residents of both houses often have lunch outdoors or afternoon barbeques.
This area used to be the stables for the horses and carriages with the stable boys and groomsmens' accommodation above. You can still see the arches, which would have been above the carriage doorways, on both sides of the house. The windowed section in the middle of the ground floor is a later extension and is Clockhouse's lovely bright dining area.
