George and his ginormous lugs (Day 2427)

It was windy, but surprisingly mild this morning when I took Sigyn a wander up the hill.
A little later, my beautiful wife and I headed for Stromness and got out on George and Red. I rode bit less again and haven't really noticed much difference in the way George reacts. He did test me for a while as I tried to get him to cross a small stream. He knows there is a bridge and, after refusing to cross the stream, he made for the bridge. He crossed back over the stream through the water but totally refused to go across the way I wanted him to go. HV coached me on ways to get him through, she got on and got him through with no problem. He was happy to follow HV walking through, but it took ages to get him to go through on his own. There were a couple of scary moments as he went up bits of banking which a horse his size shouldn't be able to manage, but I managed not to fall off. I guess he was just seeing how far he could push me. I won in the end, and we will try again tomorrow.
George was a bit out of breath after his bank scaling exploits so we stopped a minute to admire the view before continuing on our really nice ride. Extra of HV on Red.
Home for lunch, then I headed to Tankerness to deal with a blocked drain. On the way home I dropped in to look at another job which I will definitely be avoiding like the plague.
