The pits!

LH is digging some very confusing, but interesting archaeology. Although much of the site has yielded no archaeological features, this trench contains deep deposits of built up garden soil accumulated from the medieval period. This contains lots of nice fragments of pottery and artefacts, but has also had a number of pits cut into it. The light in the building is very poor and the soils very similar, making it difficult to spot the differences. Nice to be finding archaeology again though!

RH has gone out for dinner with some old work colleagues leaving LH to have an early night!
