It's Traditional

One has to have shortbread for new Year.  I like it well fired  and crisp. Often    it is a bit soggy in the middle and I don't like that. I make it with real butter in a block rather than the easy spread.
There won't be any first footing in our street again this year. I wonder will we be avoiding such things at the end of 22?
