Jerusalem artichokes
Today was my first harvest of Jerusalem artichokes - I only dug out a few as they can be quite hard on the stomach (some people call them 'fartichokes'!) and they taste better after a few frosts anyway - which we haven't had yet.
It was especially satisfying to see how wormy the bed was. It's a no-dig area and you always get fantastic results but it's quite high-maintenance to keep topping up the soil with layers of mulch.
