Crows
You might have seen on the news, there was a fatal stabbing of a 15 yo in the park about half a mile from here last night, the one I walk through to get to my local Parkrun. This was followed swiftly by another, unrelated, attack a few miles away in a different part of London. We get a lot of gang violence in my borough, it's big and very socially diverse in every aspect be that poverty / wealth or race but not usually as close to home. It wasn't anyone any of us know but there are a mother and father, siblings and friends out there somewhere who's lives will never be the same again. And for what. It wasn't worth it, that's for sure
I could go on, but I won't as it's not very cheery. Not that it's been a massively cheery year but it's over (almost) now, and the next one is on its way. Or here already for some (that Southern Hemisphere lot always were impatient).
I hope everyone in Blipland - and beyond - has a good evening, staying up, going to bed, staying in, going out, doing whatever is right for you. Thank you all so much for my stars, comments, hearts, laughs and even a few tears over the year. Onwards and upwards for 2022.
The collective noun for a group of crows is a Murder. It seemed strangely, if uncomfortably, appropriate to see this outside my bedroom window.
