He’s behind you!

A visit to Hartsholme Park this afternoon to enjoy the warmer weather. It was very boggy underfoot, but this didn’t deter the dozens of dogs and their owners.

There was plenty of wildlife to choose from to photograph, but with Amber and Olive on the end of leads, we were lucky to keep our arms attached!!!

We stopped at this spot to take a ‘this will have to do’ picture and I was surprised that the girls were motionless. B said ‘look behind’ and when I turned there was a squirrel watching us. It had been playing about earlier, but dived into the undergrowth. It reappeared and edged closer when we all stood still.

The last day of 2021, a year that I will not be sorry to see the back of. This time last year I was grateful to the NHS services at Glenfield Hospital in Leicester for saving my life when I had open heart surgery that summer.

This year my sincere thanks go to a medical secretary at the private hospital in Lincoln for enabling me to see a cardiologist after a 6 month wait, so that I could prevent the NHS from killing me. Sounds dramatic but when everyone is insisting that you continue to take a drug that has dropped your heart rate into the 40’s, you know that you have to put your foot down and do something before it’s too late.

I survived that fortunately and was able to enjoy with B, R & S our golden wedding anniversary in Northumberland. Also several trips to meet up with old friends. The highlights of the year.

My friend at the private hospital will be called upon shortly to assist in sorting out another NHS error. I’m fortunate that the pension that I earned for 50yrs nursing in the NHS is enabling me to pay for private care.

Enough of the past, let’s look to a more positive future for everyone. Thanks to all the friends on Blip that visit my journal and make the world a smaller place with kindness and interest. Many thanks and wishing you all the best for 2022 x
