Lentil dhal

Tonight we have friends over and are catering for a vegan (me), and vegetarian, pescatarian and carnivores… so I made this lentil dhal and a chickpea and jackfruit curry.. my husband has made a beef curry and tandoori prawns and we have rice and poppadoms and naan bread… hopefully that will suffice!

I started today with a 7 mile run and completed my yearly goal of 2021 miles for 2021. My husband pointed out that is an average of 5.5 miles a day. At first I responded “oh that’s not very much” and then I realised actually it is. I have set my running goals for next year and will be starting tomorrow. These are my goals:


1. I am in day 64 of a run streak where I have run every day. I plan to continue that for as long as I can…

2. I am going to keep up my weekly half marathons and rather than reset my number to zero am aiming to get to 100 by the end of 2022. 2021 I have done 45 so my aim is 100 over 2 years.

3. I’m running a marathon in October with colleagues and will be helping them get there.. in doing so i am running Bath Half Marathon with them as support.

4. I’m going to run my first ultra marathon. I haven’t decided quite which one to do yet but will decide very soon.

As a little something extra this year and to make all this running worth while I have decided to do some fundraising for the charity Doing it for Dan. Dan was a pupil at the school my children went to who died in a road accident and the charity was founded to raise funds to support children’s sport as Dan was a keen sportsman. I will have my page open for the entire year and if you can spare any pennies I would be really grateful.
