Here is Minty with this year's Christmas toys - a dog and a fox - that he wasted no time chewing. I push the stuffing back into them and he gets pleasure taking it all out again.

After our walk this afternoon I sat and watched the dvd of one of my most favourite films ever - "Stepping Out" - which is now 30 years old. The star of the film is Liza Minelli, but Julie Walters is superb in her role as a posh Englishwoman living in Buffalo, New York, and proves that she can dance as well as act.

Apart from that, it's been a busy day of cleaning, tidying and packing in anticipation of P's return....
