New Zealand stick insect

This stick insect has already got one damaged leg, and today was living dangerously by hanging from a twig centimetres from an active blackbird nest!

Sadly the blackbirds have learned to eat stick insects which hasn't happened before, so the stick insect population has taken a hit.

This one we moved to the far end of the garden, hoping it will stay there!
