A dreich day
It was drizzly and grey most of the morning but I wasn’t too bothered as I was cleaning the house in readiness for Hogmanay.
Miss PHL came round early to collect her dad and brought us breakfast. Car loaded they headed back to her flat to finish building the chest of drawers and to try and improve the wi-fi. It’s an old tenament building with very thick stone walls so they’ll need some kind of booster.
Nipped to the wee supermarket as I’d forgotten to get brandy for my chicken liver pate. Stuck the ingredients for steak pie filling (well it’s a Scottish tradition to have steak pie on the 1st) in the slow cooker whilst I hoovered and then washed the kitchen floor. Pate made and just enough time to get showered and dressed before Susan arrived.
Lovely relaxed evening chatting, eating stroganoff followed by cheese, watching Ghostbusters and then some Hogmanay tv with a little too much Prosecco and red wine drunk before we headed to bed just before 2.
Happy new year
Backblipped Saturday for Friday
