Siberian Chiffchaff

A tiny Siberian chiffchaff showing well in Worcestershire for the last few days.

We went out on a jaunt to see the juvenile great northern diver which had been photographed in the bottom lock basin in Worcester over the last days. On enquiry it has transpired to have had a sad demise probably due to Avian flu apparently.

After checking Twitter updates the next closest rarity of the region was only three miles away so off we toddled. Hubs was scouring the hedgerows with his bins and we could hear little tweeting sounds but as always with these things I was surprised to actually realise I had got the one on camera at the end of it all. He was difficult to identify initially as many of the chiffchaff warbler birds seem so very alike to me! Very tricky to get a clear shot of as he was bouncing over and in between branches at a pace!

Thank you everyone for all the kind words and scattering of hearts and stars over my Roxy fox blip yesterday. All really very appreciated and I am trying to get back to everyone individually.
