Chocas

Chocas Mar is a coastal village cum sprawling resort on the mainland opposite Ilha de Moçambique. It’s known for its beach and various lodges.

Today I visited via a combination of random transportation types to navigate all the junctions and crossing points. These methods included motorbike taxis, a minivan, a truck, a lift with a car and standing in the bed of a HGV next to some water tanks. The return trip worked out quite well considering the number of legs.

In the evening back on Ilha, a great find of a rooftop lounging area above a restaurant on the island. Perfect for a cold beer and plate of mandioca (cassava) fries.
